Even organic food has been contaminated with Monsanto chemicals.
Producers of the biggest selling pesticide in the world, Monsanto have seen their product somehow make it into organic food.
Monsanto have time and again defended their product ‘Roundup’ which contains the ingredient glyphosate, which the World Health Organization have labelled as a ‘probable human carcinogen’.
Monsanto have claimed there is no health risks posed from ingesting the ingredient, which often makes its way through the food chain and into many of the foods we eat on a daily basis.
But fears for organic food have been raised as the chemical has shown up in tests done on food grown and sold as 100% organic.
A report released by the Alliance for Natural Health USA has revealed how ‘detectable levels’ of glyphosate were found organic egg and bread products.
Bruce Hemming, former Monsanto scientist was behind the study, conducted by his Microbe Infotech Laboratories, a highly respected company with over 25 years experience.
The tests show what many have feared for a while, that glyphosate is not just a dangerous product, that it is out of control too.
There is a normal amount of contamination when mass spreading of chemicals onto crops occurs, due to wind and environmental factors. But to find this chemical in the exact opposite products to where you would expect shows a lack of awareness of how far this product is spreading.
Gretchen DuBeau, executive director of ANH-USA said:
“The fact that it is showing up in foods like eggs and coffee creamer, which don’t directly contact the herbicide, shows that it’s being passed on by animals who ingest it in their feed,”
“This is contrary to everything that regulators and industry scientists have been telling the public.”
Monsanto claim that ingesting small amounts of glyphosate has no detrimental effect on human health, despite several lawsuits against them suggesting otherwise.
