Self-professed Mormon ‘prophet’ arrested for kidnapping young girls.
Let he without sin cast the first stone – What is wrong with these clergymen who just can’t keep their hands off children?
The church, all denominations included has suffered greatly when it comes to their members being ousted as pedophiles and child abusers, it seems religion really doesn’t discriminate.
Yet another religious figurehead has been exposed as a child abuser, Samuel Warren Shaffer from the fundamentalist Mormon offshoot “Knights of the Crystal Blade” has been arrested for kidnapping young girls.
The sisters, Hattie Coltharp, 4, and Dina Coltharp, 8 were found along with his own children, their mother say they had been missing for three months.
Mother Micha Coltharp told Fox 13 that her ex-husband John Coltharp took the children to join Shaffer in his ‘cult’ in September.
“They are with a man that calls himself Samuel ‘The Seer,’”
“His name is Samuel Warren Shaffer and he believes he holds the keys of this dispensation and he has been many people throughout the history of time and that he has been reincarnated. They are following his prophecies and I believe he is with them and helping hide the children.“
Several offshoots of Mormonism have been known to practice polygamy, and other unorthodox social behaviors.
Shaffer wrote on a website how a religious doctrine was handed down to him by God on June 22, 2015 entitled “The kingdom of God or nothing!!!,”
Shaffer’s sister, Cindi Ray has spoken of her brother’s unusual religious beliefs and as to why Coltharp was rightly worried about the safety of her children.
“…said to all of [his] siblings in the past that girls are meant to get married at the age of 12 — their bodies are ready.”
The girl’s grandfather, Steve Sobel confirmed that girls were found holed up in a “storage receptacle” and that if they had not been found by the Iron County Utah police, they would have doubtful survived the night.
